General Manager

Our client is a leading specialist in the development, production and distribution of high-quality steel. The products are used in sectors such as construction, food, healthcare, industry and energy. With more than 70 employees and a modern, automated production environment, the company has grown into a market leader in its niche and a reliable partner for customers at home and abroad.

The company is known for its innovative strength, expert advice and sustainable way of working. Today, around 90% of its revenue comes from international markets. To further accelerate growth and diversification, our client is seeking an entrepreneurial and inspiring General Manager.

The role

As General Manager you will hold full responsibility for the Dutch organization and work closely with the CEO of the parent company. You will directly manage the MT (Production, Finance, Engineering) and ensure the continued professionalisation and development of the company.

Key strategic themes for the coming years include:

• Growth and diversification, especially in the food sector

• Managing complexity and innovation: production processes are becoming more varied and require strong process and project management

• Digitalisation and AI: further automation and application of new technologies

• International expansion and strengthening of the company’s market position

Your profile

• A completed technical and/or business degree (Bachelor/Master)

• At least 5–10 years of experience in a general management role in production, trade or distribution (preferably in metals, construction, food or industrial sectors)

• Strong technical and business acumen; able to bring structure and stability to complex processes and projects

• An inspiring and connecting leader with a people-oriented management style

• Entrepreneurial, strategic and results-driven

• Affinity with digitalisation and AI

• Excellent communication skills; fluent in Dutch, English and German

• Willingness to travel internationally

• Able to connect naturally with the organisation’s culture, where respect, integrity and commitment are central values
